Kiri Lowe, RMT MNZ
Diploma of Body Therapies (NZCM) 1998
Diploma of Therapeutic Massage (MNZ) 1998
I studied a Diploma of Therapeutic Massage and Diploma of Body Therapies in sports and energy, at the New Zealand College of Massage in 1997. Since then I have continued to study bodywork including neuromuscular therapy. I have been a registered massage therapist (RMT) with Massage New Zealand (MNZ) since 2000. I was on the MNZ executive for 3 years.
I am a specialist in OOS prevention, management and maintenance. Soft tissue therapy is a fundamental tool in the prevention of OOS. It is most effective if received regularly to maintain healthy and relaxed neck and shoulders. It is an essential tool to help relieve pain; be it headaches, shoulder, forearm or hand pain.
My treatments incorporate trigger point therapy, myo-fascial release, deep tissue massage, remedial massage, postural assessment, stretching, reflexology or relaxation.
Each session is tailored to the individual needs of the client. Within my practice, I have worked with a range of clients from NZ level athletes, triathletes, Super 15 teams; including the Blues, the All Blacks, visiting NRL teams to corporate clients. I worked within the NZ Sports Academy framework (now High Performance Sport NZ) for 10 years.
I enjoy the educational role of massage, assisting people to change old postures creating healthier patterns.
I am currently also studying a Bachelor of Natural Medicine part-time. With the view to add Naturopathy into my practice. I am currently in the third year of a three year degree.
